Sunstones
Sunstones ApS
Danish company founded in 2023 out of research at the Department of Geoscience at Aarhus University. It takes CO2 from sources such as biogas plants, dissolves it in water and injects the solution into the subsurface, where it mineralises into stable carbonates. A test facility is being built near Fur in the Limfjord, where test drilling has already been carried out with the Skive Climate Fund, Aarhus University and Rybjerg Biogas. Mineralisation in geological formations is not covered by a CRCF methodology yet.
