Rock Flour Company
Rock Flour Company
Company sourcing glacial rock flour in Greenland and spreading it on cropland, where it weathers and binds carbon as carbonate. Greenland is not part of the EU, so only the application sites count here: Project ICEFIELD runs field pilots across Denmark, from small research plots to commercial-scale fields, and is building what it describes as Denmark's first certified enhanced rock weathering credit pathway. The company states that Denmark is its first deployment market, while its longer-term plan is to ship material to warmer regions, with trials in Ghana. Enhanced rock weathering is not carbon farming under the Regulation, because the carbon does not go into a biogenic pool; it would have to qualify as a permanent removal. No CRCF methodology exists for it, the Commission lists it at exploration stage.
